The Chickadee Has Landed

Am in Entebbe, Uganda! Overcast and in the 80s. Landed last night and went thru the Visa line without a hitch. All three legs of flight – Amsterdam, Kigali and Entebbe went smoothly. All said, from my apartment in Seattle to my hotel in Entebbe it was a 26 hour day. There were no problems going through security at Seatac and Amsterdam. No one asked about the ultrasound probe, which I thought would at least raise an eyebrow.

On the way to my hotel, the driver pointed to a very well lit building up the hill. “You are sleeping a mile away from the President of Uganda. Museveni. He is right up there.”

Awaiting the arrival of my main contact here in Uganda. Then we will drive to Kampala for a couple of days before going down to Mbarara, where I will be staying for the duration of my trip.

Am really excited to be here and explore the country!
